Katy's Strengthen and Soothe class is a mat-based movement class that takes a whole body approach to moving with more ease and less pain - both on and off the mat. In each session you will dive into one theme (lower back, shoulders, balance, etc.) and practice exercises that will get you: A. Stretching, rocking and releasing your tissues while bringing your nervous system into a state of receptivity (which is exactly where we want to be to create change in our bodies!)
B. Exploring strength and mobility with slow, mindful movements where you choose whether to take it 5% or 95%
C. Getting in the under-moved nooks and crannies of your body, waking them up and integrating them back into your while system.
D. Working with a guide (me), the expert (you), and a community (the class) to share experiences, ask questions, and get wiser about our bodies and how we live in them.
Strengthen and Soothe will be run in 6-week series with weekly 1 hour classes on Sunday mornings starting January 4 from 9:30-10:30.

Come join Michelle from 6:00-7:00 pm Tuesdays, starting January 20! Join Michelle for a gentle and uplifting introduction to Kundalini Yoga, often referred to as the "yoga of awareness." This class is designed to awaken your inner energy, foster a deeper connection with yourself, and leave you feeling lighter, brighter, and more centered.
Unlike traditional Hatha or Vinyasa styles, Kundalini is a holistic practice that combines simple physical postures (asanas), dynamic breathing techniques (pranayama), mindful meditation, and the powerful use of sound and sacred chants (mantra). The primary goal is not complex flexibility, but to gently activate the dormant energy (Kundalini) at the base of your spine and guide it upward, promoting physical vitality, mental clarity, and spiritual well-being.
This class is perfect for everyone, regardless of age, physical ability, or previous yoga experience. Come as you are. Sign up for this series at https://reikiinthewoods.com

Come join Michelle from 6:00-7:00 pm Thursdays, starting January 22! This Yin/Restorative yoga class offers a deeply meditative and therapeutic experience, designed to balance the body's energy and calm the nervous system. This practice typically begins with the principles of Yin Yoga focusing on passively holding postures for several minutes to target the deep connective tissues and then transitions to the gentle embrace of Restorative yoga which emphasizes minimal physical effort , using props like blankets, bolsters, and blocks to fully support the body in restful poses stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system helping to reduce stress, slow the heart rate and facilitate the body's natural healing processes. Reiki will be offered during these poses as well! This class is suitable for all levels, from beginners to experience practitioners. Sign up for this series at https://reikiinthewoods.com
